Dr Faustus – Year 13 English Literature – 7th September

Year 13 English literature students will be going to the Barbican to see Dr Faustus performed. Fees and permissions were arranged during term 6 last year, so all students should have the relevant information – if not, please contact

Oxford University Target Roadshow – 20th October

Students currently attending Oxford university will come to present to our students in order to debunk the myths surrounding studying at Oxford and at university in general. This will take place during period 3 in the Study Centre.

Nike visit Pro Soccer Academy – 1st November

Nike Academy coaches will visit our Pro Soccer scholars and the students will be able to try out new equipment and train with them.

Licence to Kill? – 8th November

As part of our work with Kent County Council to reduce the number of young people injured or killed on our county’s roads, we will be taking part in the ‘Licence to Kill?’ award-winning exhibition on 8th November. This will be the sixth year that Wrotham Sixth Form has attended and we would like to thank Kent Fire Brigrade and Kent County Council’s team for their invaluable work and this important opportunity.

Student Finance visit – 16th November

Representatives from Student Finance England are coming to speak to our Year 13 students about university student loans – how they apply, how they are calculated, how they are paid and how they are repaid. More information can be found here about how that worked for student this year. Details for the academic year 2017-18 and applications usually open in January.

Year 12 and 13 PPE week – 23-27th January

All A level subjects will be holding their Pre-Public Examinations during this week. Revision sessions and advice will be available from term 1, so please add these dates to your diary.

Year 13 – Trip to Maidstone Crown Court – 21st February

Social Science students will go to interview a judge and witness a day in the life of a crown court.

Year 12 and 13 Parents Evening – 23rd February

All students and parents are encouraged to attend for the opportunity to speak to staff about progress, post-18 options and any other concerns/points for celebration.

Year 13 English literature Poetry Live – 24th February

Year 13 English literature students will be attending the Poetry Live workshops with Year 11 at the Apollo Theatre. Letters will be distributed nearer the actual date. Please contact for more information.

Year 12 and 13 – Trip to Dungeness Power Station – 10th March

Geography students will visit the power station to supplement their examination studies.

Year 12 and Year 13 – The Academic Centre, Maidstone Hospital – 10th March

Health Education England working across Kent, Surrey and Sussex and Maidstone Hospital in partnership with Education Business Partnership Kent, are presenting a day of Health and Social Care professions within the high tech training centre at Maidstone Hospital.

Year 11 and Year 12 – ‘Prison? Me? No Way!’ Visit – 14th March

Current and prospective social science students will have the opportunity to find out about the sociological and psychological issues surrounding crime by interviewing a visiting prisoner.

Year 12 and 13 – Time to Change Visit – 20th March

Our Time to Change leaders will visit the headquarters of Rethink Mental Illness in London to present their work and receive guidance about how to run a social awareness campaign.

Year 12 and 13 – Extended Project Presentation Evening – 22nd March

Students will present their own research topic as part of their assessment for the Extended Project Level 3.

Year 12 and 13 – Barclays Money Skills Survival and Resilience Workshops – 28th March

Students will be undertaking a series of workshops about bank accounts, credit cards, renting, insurance, and credit scores. Then they will work on building resilience, being assertive and facing challenges.

Year 13 Trip to Barcelona – 30th March-2nd April

A residential experience that will give all Year 13 students an opportunity to gain real world experience of another culture.
